A heavy producer of medium sized fruit. 18 to 20 ft tall and wide. Grow best in zones 5-8. Fruit Oct and Nov. the fruit tends to hang on the tree well into fall. Grow best in loamy soil. At least 6 hours of direct sun. Takes 2 to 5 year to produce fruit. The Arkansas Black is a heirloom apple.

When mature it has very dark, almost black skin. The fruit has a distinctive tart flavor and can be used for many purposes.
