MAEKAWA JIRO one of the best tasting persimmons. Fruit is large, 4-lobed, slightly flattened-similar to the other Jiro types, but more cyclical shaped. Fruit ripens early Sept.. Semi dwarf tree (10 – 15 feet). Self-pollinating but will produce more/larger fruit with a Jiro (Fuyu) nearby. Leaves kind resemble a magnolia leaf. It doesn't require a lot of up keep. All our persimmons are grafted onto a hardy American root stock
Pairs nicely with a Jiro Persimmon.
